Flute
Serenna MacLellan is a Scottish flautist and collaborative musician committed to the transformational role of music in society. She is currently pursuing a Masters at the Royal College of Music, London, as an RCM scholar, supported by Help Musicians and beneficiary of The McGlashan Trust Award, Buchar-Fraser Scholarship, The Kathleen Trust and The

Foundation of St Matthias. She studies flute with Gitte Marcusson, Sue Thomas, Rachel Brown (baroque) and Stewart McIlwham (piccolo).

With a diverse range of musical interests, ranging from baroque to contemporary to folk, Serenna regularly performs in London as well as her home country, Scotland, in solo, chamber and orchestral settings. Notably, she is flautist in Gal Trio, who were featured as Berwick Music Society’s Rising Stars and principal flute of Edinburgh City Orchestra. Recent performance highlights include Royal College of Music Symphony, Philharmonic and Opera Orchestras, where she featured as principal piccolo in the production of Janáček’s the Little Cunning Vixen. 

A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Serenna completed her Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours, under the tutelage of Sarah Newbold, Ruth Morley and Georgia Browne (baroque). She performed the Ibert Flute Concerto as winner of the Edinburgh University Concerto Competition and received the University of Edinburgh AGB Award, the Tovey Memorial Prize, and Sir Thomas Beecham Scholarship for Instrumentalists, and First Place in the Edinburgh Festival Woodwind Solo Recital Class, in recognition of her flair and potential in solo performance.

Alongside performing, Serenna works as an artist, specialising in landscape painting, as well as advocating for inclusive music participation through private teaching and involvement in

community music projects amongst communities facing barriers to the arts.

Upcoming engagements include recitals at The Royal Albert Hall Elgar Rooms (5thSeptember 2026, 11am) and Royal College of Music (7th September).

Piano

Following his studies at the Royal College of Music, Jonathan Musgrave has developed a varied career as a collaborative pianist and repetiteur (accompanying and coaching opera singers.) 

As a chamber musician he has worked with instruments and voices of every kind, leading to concerts at venues including the Purcell Room, Cadogan Hall and Wigmore Hall. He has also travelled around the UK and performed live on BBC Radio 3.

Jonathan is in demand as a répétiteur, having worked at Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater, Regents Opera and Surrey Opera. Recent highlights include the Ring cycle and Salome, for Regents Opera. Jonathan’s wide musical interests include a particular attraction to British music, especially that of the early 20th century. Supreme among many other names sits Ivor Gurney, whose manuscripts he has edited and brought

to performance for the first time. He has also premiered several pieces of contemporary music, by composers including Roxanna Panufnik and Toby Young.
